Born to musician parents with a massive vinyl collection, Corey and Kyle Moss have literally been spinning records since they were in diapers. Formally, the brothers boast a combined 20 years of DJ’ing experience. These days, Corey is also an original content producer for Yahoo TV in Los Angeles and Kyle is a DJ at multiple Clear Channel radio stations.

Growing up in Des Moines, Iowa, Corey was already writing about music for local newspapers by high school, paying for records by DJ’ing at the nearby skating rink. By the time he graduated, he had multiple offers to DJ for other companies. Instead, he used his graduation money to launch what was then called Mosspit Mobile Music after his high school nickname. (He later changed the name so as not to scare off clients that were afraid he specialized in mosh pits.)

Throughout the mid-to-late 1990s, Corey grew Moss Mobile Music into the hippest DJ service in town, known for filling dance floors for hours on end. High schools, fraternities and sororities would book a year's worth of dances with him at once. Couples hired him for their weddings before they were even engaged. His '80s night residency at a local bar sold out for months. The newspaper even invited him to write a weekly column about the latest tunes and forgotten gems he spins.

Eventually, Corey pulled his younger brother, Kyle, out of his rock band to help him and he became instantly popular. In 2001, Corey handed Kyle the business outright and he grew it even larger while Corey moved to Los Angeles and launched a career as a music journalist, television news producer and screenwriter. Eager for a new challenge, Kyle moved Moss Mobile Music to L.A. in 2005 and the brothers joined forces once again.
